Your Questions Answered

Find clarity on what to expect from our counseling services and how we can support your journey.

If you have additional questions or need more clarity about our counseling services and how we can support your journey, we’d love to hear from you!

Feel free to get in touch—whether it’s about specific services, payment options, or anything else, we’re here to help you find clarity and feel confident moving forward.

What can I expect in my first session?

In your first session, we’ll discuss your goals and explore how we can work together to achieve them.

Is counseling confidential?

Yes, all sessions are confidential, respecting your privacy and ensuring a safe space for open dialogue.

How do I know if counseling is right for me?

If you’re seeking personal growth, clarity, or support through challenges, counseling can be a beneficial step.

Do you take insurance?

We are a self-pay practice with a flat rate of $90 per session. However, we understand that insurance coverage may be a concern for some clients. Here are several ways we can assist:

  1. Superbills for Insurance Reimbursement
While we do not bill insurance directly, we provide superbills, which are detailed receipts that you can submit to your insurance company for reimbursement.
    • The process is simple: we email you the superbill, and you forward it to your insurance company.
    • We are also exploring the option to submit the superbill on your behalf directly to your insurance, with your permission, to save you time.
  2. Medical Cards
We accept medical cards, including SHA cards (checking medical cards), as payment.
  3. Payment Plans
We offer flexible payment plans to make our services more accessible:
    • For example, you could pay $40 per week and schedule sessions accordingly.
Where are you located?

Our services are available in several locations depending on the type of service you’re seeking:

  1. Counseling Services
Counseling sessions are conducted in person at our location in Steubenville.
  2. Spiritual Direction
Spiritual direction is offered via telehealth, allowing you to connect from wherever you are.
  3. Personal Training
Personal training locations vary based on your membership:
    • The YMCA
    • Franciscan University facilities
    • Outdoor sessions
  4. Music Coaching: Conducted in-person at our location in Steubenville.
Are your clinicians trained?

Yes, all of our clinicians are highly trained and dedicated to providing top-quality care. Each clinician completes a specialized formation program designed to ensure the highest level of counseling that is both professional and orthodox.

This rigorous training process equips our team with the knowledge, skills, and tools to deliver compassionate and effective care, rooted in excellence and integrity.

So, is this good counseling?

Bio
Theresa Renna is originally from Birmingham, Alabama where she lived with her family until attending Franciscan University of Steubenville for her Bachelors Degree in Theology and Minor in Music Ministry. Music has filled her life since the age of 3 when singing on her family’s CD Kid’s Sing for Jesus. She began playing acoustic guitar by age 7, and studied classical piano starting at age 10. Around age 12 she began lessons for electric guitar, and would often play songs with her sister, Angela, who plays bass guitar. Theresa’s family of 8 would play together as a band for various fundraisers or events doing a variety of cover songs. Theresa and her parents would also play praise music for church, conferences, and retreats. She participated in a variety of job opportunities over the years showcasing her musicality, such as, becoming a private music teacher for guitar, piano, and ukulele, a choir director for a homeschool co-op, being invited as a featured artist to share original music at various events, and also leading praise and worship music for retreats. Theresa has loved to songwrite since the age of 9, inspired by her mom who would write music. She likes to describe her writing as “storytelling” and does not gravitate towards a particular genre or style, writing both secular and Christian music. Her love for songwriting continues today writing and recording as she is able, releasing music on Spotify and other platforms. She has taken part in several songwriter’s retreats through Franciscan University, as well as two Catholic Musician’s Retreats with The Vigil Project. She has collaborated with other musicians over the years helping co-write and co-record with them as well. 6 years ago Theresa experienced a serious injury which affected her diaphragm making it impossible to breathe in completely, in turn affecting her singing. Through prayer, a miraculous healing took place in July of 2024 completely restoring her injuries, freeing her to experience her musical gifts in fullness once again. This experience affirmed in her a deep knowledge of the Lord’s ability to do the impossible, and His desire for healing in His perfect time. His saving of the musical aspects of her life also revealed to her how impactful music is in itself, and how He desires for music to impact others. Theresa is overjoyed to be a part of the Fiat Counseling team and hopes to help others experience music in a new way, which reveals their unique heart to themselves and the Lord’s heart for them.
